We adapt, dm-drogerie markt succeeds!

From my times as the product manager for SUSE Linux Enterprise Point of Service I still have some special affinity to the Retail industry.

Maybe because of that heritage I’m even more proud than usual that we can present a new customer success story about dm-drogerie markt (link in German only) and their successful migration to an SAP solution running on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications.

When was the last time you heard that a “migration completed three months earlier than planned”? That’s exactly what happened at dm-drogerie markt!

First of all, dm-drogerie markt chose to work with SUSE Consulting. That gave them access to the expertise they needed to accomplish their goals in a timely manner.

Second, SUSE Manager is part of the solution. In this project and many similar ones in both Retail and other industries we’ve made the experience that SUSE Manager is a perfect match for an SAP landscape: It gives you the staging capabilities to make sure that you can both ensure your production and test systems are patched in a timely manner and that you can thoroughly test those patches in your own environments before they go live on your production systems.
