Country Garden Holdings Company Limited: Going global with digital transformation and SAP

One of the winners of the SAP Innovation Award 2019 is Country Garden Holdings Company Limited, a leading real estate developer in China. Among their projects is Southeast Asia’s first and largest green city project, called “Forest City”. In order to keep their business running and to strengthen their global presence, they needed a digital platform to increase efficiency, secure information and create value. Therefore, Country Garden decided to deploy SAP S/4HANA as their core business system, supporting MDM, FICO, HR, MM, SRM, bidding and full cost management.

SAP project objectives

In order to guarantee a successful global digitalization, Country Garden had to set clear project objectives. A single unified SAP core business platform that adapts local specifics and meets the demand for multi languages, multi currencies and multi dimensions, was planned to be adopted. Furthermore, the software solution had to be able to seamlessly integrate core businesses such as procurement, cost management as well as bidding and finance to facilitate cross departmental collaboration and information sharing.

A pioneer project for Chinese companies to go international

Since Country Garden implemented SAP S/4HANA they were able to reduce costs and increase efficiency due to unified information standards, a consolidated data source and formalized workflows. They were able to achieve insight and greater control over international operations with integrated IT management, breaking information barriers and accelerating collaboration. Also, Country Garden can be seen as a role model for Chinese enterprises expanding abroad; plus their “Forest City” project, a sustainable future city that promotes green living and regional economic growth, is supported by the new SAP solution.
