We’re excited here in the SAP alliance team at SUSE as HP has recently posted the first ever result on new SAP NetWeaver® BW-enhanced mixed load (BW-EML) standard application benchmark – and what a result it was!

So why are we excited? Well, the platform ran SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 operating system with a SAP HANA database, and the SAP NetWeaver technology platform 7.30.

The HP ProLiant DL580 G7 result was 65,988 ad-hoc query steps per hour with 1,000,000,000 records and was certified on May 16, 2012.

SAP standard application benchmarks have been designed to represent customer-relevant scenarios in many different business contexts. This also applies to the new SAP EML standard application benchmark, which follows the current demands of typical SAP NetWeaver BW customers. These demands are mainly coined by three major requirements: near real-time reporting, ad-hoc reporting capabilities, and reduction of TCO.

This is a great result for HP and truly demonstrates the ability of of this combination to deliver on today’s new customer requirements.
