Long term support for SLES 11 SP4 for POWER

SUSE announces Long Term Service Pack Support (LTSS) for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 4 on POWER.

Maintaining support for Linux IT infrastructure is a key requirement, particularly for complex business critical systems such as SAP HANA. SUSE has seen a tremendous increase in the adoption of SAP HANA on IBM POWER systems since it became available last year.

SLES 11 SP4 is currently the only supported version for SAP HANA on POWER. Since general support for SLES 11 SP4 is scheduled to end 31 March 2019, many clients are inquiring about extended support. To address this concern for support past March 2019, extended support has been made available.

Customers may purchase LTSS for SLES 11 SP4 for POWER from the Corporate price list as early as November 2016. Note that LTSS subscriptions will be delivered when they are purchased and will show in the SUSE Customer Center.

The LTSS channels for SLES 11 SP4 will start producing updates after 1 April 2019, when LTSS becomes active. LTSS for SLES 11 SP4 on POWER will provide support for up to three years beyond the end of general support, through March 2022.

LTSS subscription offerings are available to extend the support terms for selected releases of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and for SUSE Linux Enterprise Servers for SAP Applications.  The most current support dates for these products can be found at https://www.suse.com/lifecycle/.
