SUSE images now in Oracle Cloud Marketplace
Yesterday at Oracle’s premier developer event – Oracle Code, Oracle announced their Oracle Cloud Platform is seeing rapid adoption by global enterprises, SMBs and ISVs for a range of business critical workloads. They also shared that Oracle Cloud Marketplace is growing quickly, with more than 4,000 partner solutions already being offered, including solutions from SUSE.
SUSE is the first enterprise Linux vendor to provide images in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace, with ready-to-deploy images for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 and 12.
SUSE and Oracle have a long history of partnership and for years SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (“SLES”) has provided Oracle customers a scalable platform for demanding workloads and applications such as Oracle Database and Oracle Fusion Middleware and Applications. As our mutual customers move to the cloud, our partnership with Oracle enables them to build, deploy, and extend applications and run business-critical workloads on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server in the low-latency, highly-available, secure Oracle Cloud Platform environment.
Launching a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server image on the Oracle Cloud is easy. Just go to the Oracle Cloud Marketplace and sign up for an account. SUSE images can be found with a quick search, or click on this link to the SLES 12 SP2 Evaluation page. If you need a supported SUSE image for your production workload, you can bring your own SUSE subscription and apply it to the image running in the Oracle Cloud, or contact SUSE to purchase a new subscription.
