SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 Service Pack 7 Public Beta is now available
SUSE is excited to announce the public beta release of SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 Service Pack 7 (SLE 15 SP7)!
SLE 15 SP7 is a “Consolidation” Service Pack. However, this last service pack brings an array of enhancements, ensuring that enterprises can benefit from the latest innovations while maintaining a stable and secure platform for their mission-critical workloads.
What’s new in SLE 15 SP7?
SLE 15 SP7 is a featureful update that introduces several key improvements to keep pace with evolving enterprise needs:
- Updated Language Runtimes: Developers can take advantage of the latest programming language updates, including:
- Ruby 3.4 – Improved performance and enhanced security features.
- Python 3.13 – The latest iteration of Python, bringing optimizations and new capabilities.
- PHP 8.3 – Offering better performance, security, and new functionalities for web development.
- New Systems Management Module: Managing enterprise systems just got easier with the introduction of the Systems Management module. This new module integrates Salt and Ansible, enabling organizations to automate, orchestrate, and maintain system configurations more efficiently.
- Upcoming MariaDB Update: While not included in the initial beta release, we plan to deliver the new LTS version of MariaDB 11.8 as part of this service pack in a future update. This will provide enterprises with the last long-term, reliable database solution.
