Implementation

SUSE Multi Linux Support Lite can be implemented by using RMT (Repository Mirroring Tool). SUSE Multi Linux Support Basic can be implemented using either RMT or SUSE Multi-Linux Manager. The deployment and registration process is outlined in the SUSE documentation. Below is the high level overview of RMT based implementation on AWS.

Please note that the first step is specific to AWS by launching a BYOS SLES 15 instance. A SLES entitlement is included in the SUSE Multi Linux Support, so you don’t need to launch a PAYG SLES instance to pay for the software. Instructions on deploying a SLES instance to support RMT on AWS can be found here.

Registering RHEL 7 or CentOS Linux 7 with RMT: https://documentation.suse.com/liberty/7/single-html/quickstart/index.html
Registering RHEL or CentOS Linux with SUSE Manager: https://documentation.suse.com/suma/4.3/en/suse-manager/client-configuration/clients-sleses.html

Support

  • Customers identify issues and first rule out AWS infra issues that need support from AWS
  • Open Support Ticket with SUSE
  • SUSE provides support directly to Multi Linux Support, on BYOS CentOS, as well as free PAYG CentOS instances
