SUSE Partners Provide Endpoint and Data Center Security

RSA Conference, a major information security event, wound down almost two weeks ago.  Hotel prices in San Francisco are back below stratosphere levels (at least for now), but the important work of protecting information continues.  At SUSE, security is a never ending process, and we are committed to delivering best effort security.  We also recognize that security is a team effort, requiring an ecosystem of world class security software partners, enabling our customers to choose the best solutions that align with their requirements and risk profile.

Touring through the cavernous Expo halls of the Moscone Center was a reminder that SUSE has partnerships with many players, both leading and emerging, across a wide spectrum of the security landscape, including endpoint and data center protection, identity, privileged user management, database protection, encryption and key management, vulnerability testing, application security, and cloud security.   In this blog, I will focus on some of our key partners covering endpoint and data center security.

With sensitive data and critical applications residing on endpoints and within data centers, protection from threats, both internal and external is imperative.  Protection and hardening of servers, defense against the latest threats, including ransomware, detection of vulnerabilities, micro-segmentation capabilities for security policies, increased visibility and context regarding user behavior, and support of cloud and virtualization technologies, are just a sample of the features offered by our partners in this space.  Here are some of SUSE’s partners who deliver security solutions for endpoint and data center protection:

  • CrowdStrike – cloud-delivered endpoint protection
  • Forcepoint – threat protection for Linux
  • IBM – endpoint protection and compliance
  • McAfee – endpoint protection for Linux, virus scanning / anti-malware for Linux
  • SentinelOne – endpoint protection for on premise and cloud
  • Sophos – server protection, endpoint security, antivirus for Linux
  • Symantec – endpoint protection and data center security
  • Trend Micro – comprehensive security platform for physical, virtual and cloud servers

I plan to cover key partnerships involving other security segments in future blogs.  However, I would like to welcome two of our most recent partner program members, Aqua Security and NeuVector, leading suppliers of container security solutions.  These and other partners participated in the announcement of SUSE Ready Certification for SUSE CaaS Platform this week, as we expanded our application certification program for ISVs (independent software vendors).   The combination of these solutions and Ready Certification, will provide added confidence for clients deploying containerized applications.

I overheard at least one RSA Conference attendee talking about their fitness device tracking in the tens of thousands of steps.  I can relate, after meeting as many of our current and potential security partners as possible.  If you provide security solutions (or other software solutions), and would like to join the SUSE partner ecosystem, please reach out to certifications@suse.com.  We’ll walk a mile, and then some, for you!  For more on SUSE’s commitment to security, please visit us at suse.com/security.
