SUSE Telco Cloud 3.4: AI-ready cloud native platform to accelerate innovation
We are pleased to announce the general availability of SUSE Telco Cloud 3.4. This newest SUSE Telco offering provides a carrier-grade, cloud-native foundation that empowers CSPs to drive new revenue streams, improve operational efficiencies, and supports a sustainable transition to AI-native networks.

“SUSE Telco Cloud 3.4, the newest iteration of SUSE’s premier Telco platform, empowers Communications Service Providers (CSPs) to transition from traditional Telcos to modern Techcos,” stated Keith Basil, General Manager of the SUSE Edge Business Unit. “CSPs can efficiently deploy 5G Core & Open RAN cell sites at scale, monetize latency sensitive services at the Edge, and deliver cutting-edge Generative AI and predictive AI offerings, all built upon SUSE Telco Cloud’s open, secure, and cloud-native architecture.”
SUSE Telco Cloud: Empowering CSPs with a Secure, and Future-Ready Platform
SUSE Telco Cloud provides communication service providers with a secure, carrier-grade foundation– extending from the Core to the Edge– for deploying 5G Core, RAN, fixed access, and OSS/BSS applications. It enables faster service rollout, improved efficiency, and the flexibility to create new revenue opportunities. Built entirely on open-source Linux and Kubernetes, SUSE Telco Cloud ensures reliable performance at scale through rigorous validation and hardened security. Its cloud-native, AI-ready architecture promotes ecosystem disaggregation and provides customers the flexibility to integrate their preferred vendors and workloads.
Key benefits of SUSE Telco Cloud include:
- Carrier-Grade Performance: Delivers telco-grade performance with low latency, deterministic operation, precision timing, and a fast data path.
- Energy-Efficient Infrastructure: Optimizes power consumption by dynamically scaling workloads based on demand and supports energy-efficient ARM systems.
- Ecosystem disaggregation: SUSE Telco Cloud’s open, flexible, and modular architecture allows CSPs to select Network Function and IT vendors that best suit their deployment scenarios and budgets. This approach frees them from the limitations and schedules of vertically integrated solutions from single vendors. SUSE’s architectural principles and value proposition are also consistent with the objectives of Project Sylva, which aims to improve operational efficiencies and accelerate time to market. Tier-1 CSPs and OEMs are currently conducting field trials and real-world deployments of Telco infrastructures that leverage the Sylva-aligned SUSE Telco stack.
What’s new in SUSE Telco Cloud 3.4?
The SUSE Telco Cloud 3.4 release introduces several key enhancements:
- Extended Lifecycle Support: SUSE Telco Cloud 3.4, an even-numbered release, benefits from 24 months of Long Term Support. Its release schedule is synchronized with CNCF upstream and Rancher Prime.
- Streamlined Management and Scalability: The solution offers fully automated deployment of the entire Telco stack, from the OS to Kubernetes and Network Functions, at Telco RAN scale. Version 3.4 now fully supports IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack configurations across management, control plane, and worker nodes.
- Validated Designs for Diverse Architectures: SUSE provides pre-validated designs for Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and their vendor ecosystems. SUSE Telco Cloud 3.4 expands this support to include both Intel and ARM64 downstream clusters, from the same management cluster, significantly reducing customer ramp-up time. More importantly, SUSE also provides world-class support and consulting services to simplify the deployment of telco cloud platforms and complement their resources.
SUSE Telco Cloud 3.4 is set for general availability in September 2025. To explore how our Telco solutions can accelerate your modernization efforts, please contact SUSE.
