SUSEcares: Our Charity of the Year for FY24

One of the things that matters most to our people are the simple acts of kindness that make a real difference for others, building trust and community, and giving back. That’s why it is so fitting that we can announce that the Kindness of Konnor J. Loomis Scholarship Fund received the most donation nominations from our people in FY24, and was therefore our charity of the year.

After the unimaginable loss of their beloved son and brother Konnor, Jeff Loomis, who recently left SUSE after 26 years’ service, and Tanner Loomis, from our Sales team, along with their family, created the scholarship fund through the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation. Kindness of Konnor was the most popular cause among our people, showing how much we value compassion and community.

Konnor left behind a legacy defined by goodness, empathy, and generosity. His life was a living example of how small, thoughtful acts can leave a lasting impact on the people and communities around you. By supporting the Kindness of Konnor Scholarship, we’re helping to make sure that Konnor’s spirit continues to inspire future generations of students at UW-Eau Claire, helping them pursue their dreams by living his values and spirit. We’re so proud of all of our people for the wide variety of charities that they’ve chosen to support and nominate this year.

SUSEcares, our people-led program for giving back through volunteering and charitable donations, has had an incredible FY24, and we want to share more about how our team has made a difference.

How SUSEcares Works

SUSEcares helps our people support their chosen charities in several ways:

• Individual donations: Our people can nominate charities they care about. If approved, SUSEcares donates $500 to each organization.
• Company-organized events: Throughout the year, we organize volunteer events where our people can contribute their time and skills. We also organize events and donates $50 to the cause for each participating person, up to a set limit.
• Community Volunteering: Our people volunteer with local organizations around the world, offering their expertise and time to help their communities and causes they care about.

Focus Areas

SUSEcares focuses on five key areas that relate to our values of choice, innovation, trust and community and make the biggest impact around the world:

• Education & digital inclusion: We think that quality education and the opportunities that come with digital inclusion are something everyone should have.
• Diversity & equal opportunities:  We stand for promoting diversity and making sure everyone has the same chance to succeed.
• Climate action: It’s time to tackle climate change, and we’re doing our part to help build a sustainable future.
• Peace, justice, and strong institutions: We back projects that support peace, fairness, and strong organizations everywhere.
• Good health and wellbeing: We care about everyone’s health and wellbeing around the world.

FY24 Highlights

In FY24, SUSEcares made a real impact:

• We supported 47 charities worldwide, covering a wide range of causes.
• 183 people volunteered over 1,500 hours of their time to make a difference.
