SUSE Linux and Dell Offer Global Collaborative Support

January 20, 2004

Offering includes hardware certification and joint customer support processes

Nuremberg, Germany

SUSE and Dell now provide streamlined certification of SUSE Linux on Dell enterprise products, including PowerEdge servers, and provide customers of both companies with seamless support processes.

SUSE and Dell have identified workflow processes to ensure that joint customers will receive fast, consistent and effective support for all technical support issues. New certification and quality assurance procedures will help identify most potential issues and correct them before products are shipped to the customer.

"This is significant for our customers, SUSE and the Linux community," said Uwe Heine, chief alliance officer, SUSE Linux. "As one of the premier computer hardware manufacturers in the world, Dell's commitment to Linux, and to our mutual customers, will enable even faster penetration of this truly innovative technology."
