Password age on LDAP Server with Linux and Samba authentication (SAMBA)

Environment
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Support Pack 1
Situation
Just setting the on the LDAP Server the default
pwdmaxage
applies only to the Linux User Authentication. Users loging in from a workstation with another operating system would not be asked for a password change after the selected time.
Resolution
pwdmaxage
in the LDAP default as well as
sambamaxpwdage
in the relevant Domain Settings of the LDAP Server to the same value.
