Archiver error messages in Oracle alert file

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 2

Situation

There are some of the following error messages appearing in the Oracle alert file:

ORA-19502: write error on file
ORA-27072: File I/O error
ORA-27061: waiting for async I/Os failed Linux-x86_64 Error: 5: Input/output error

Resolution

This is fixed in Kernel 2.6.16.60-0.34.
Please install the latest kernel update.
