PackageHub packages - Checksum mismatch

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
SUSE Manager 3.2
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 4 (SLES 12 SP4)

Situation

Syncing (SUSE Manager) or mirroring (SMT/RMT) 'noarch' packages from the SUSE-PackageHub repositories gives "Checksum doesn't match" or "Target file isn't valid. Checksum should be..." errors and fails to download the files. For example in the logs it looks like this:

Resolution

The issue was resolved on the backend (internal infrastructure) and should not happen in the future.
