Package import fails with value too long for type character varying(128)

Environment

SUSE Manager 4.1.x

Situation

When importing RPMs into the database using rhnpush or syncing a repository, the import aborts with an error like:

14:41:27 Importing packages to DB:
14:43:40 value too long for type character varying(128)

Resolution

Fixed as of patch SUSE-SLE-Module-SUSE-Manager-Server-4.1-2021-334 and later.

Cause

The column 'name' of the table 'rhnPackageChangeLogData' only allows 128 characters but the description provided by the RPM contains more, hence the import fails.
