Remotely connecting to a Windows system using RDP

Environment
Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Situation
Resolution
One is rdesktop. You can find additional details (including documentation) at the project site: www.rdesktop.org
You can verify that rdesktop is installed by going into YaST and selecting Software-->Software Mangement and then searching for rdesktop.
The project site and the man page will give full details. Here are a few simple examples of usage:
rdesktop
rdesktop
Will attempt to connect to the server and then prompt the user for the username and password. Be sure to enable the appropriate port for any firewall (default for the host is 4899).
rdesktop -u -p
Connects and provides the username and password for authentication.
rdesktop -g 80%
Will use 80% of the client screen.
rdesktop -d
Will authenticate using the specified domain.
rdesktop :
Will attempt to connect using the specified port for hosts that are configured for other than the default port.
The second option is krdc which is a package included in the kdenetwork3-vnc package. Again, you can verify it is installed in the Software Management in YaST. Other KDE components/dependencies will be required to be installed but YaST will handle installing those for you.
The krdc client will connect to VNC or RDP hosts. Just run krdc or select it from the menu and you will be presented with a graphic interface for establishing the connection.
More documentation can be found at the KDE site:
http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdenetwork/krdc/index.html
The example screen shots are for a newer release but should be helpful.
