The monitor reports "Out of Range" when trying to install Linux
This document (3789654) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.
Environment
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
Situation
When installing SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop or Server the monitor can report an "Out of Range" error right after you hit enter on the Install option. What this error means is that your monitor can't handle the resolution setting you are setting for the installation. This doesn't mean that you monitor doesn't support that particular resolution. Remember that you are using some generic settings for displaying the screens during the installation of the product. The very last screen is where you configure your actual monitor or graphics card.
