SLES10SP2 fails to boot as guest on Microsoft Hyper-V with 4GB RAM or more assigned

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 2
Microsoft 2008 Server with Hyper-V

Situation

A SLES10SP2 guest on Microsoft 2008 Server running Hyper-V may experience
	waiting for /dev/hda2 to appear....
which times out. A few lines above the time out the error
	hda: unknown partition table
can be found. This issue is experienced if the system was assigned 4GB RAM or more and the Linux integrated components were not installed yet.

Resolution

Assign a max of 3983MB of RAM to the system to enable it to boot. Once the Linux integrated components are installed the RAM may be raised again.
