Cannot Perform a Filesystem Check on OCFS2

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (SLES11)
SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 11 (HAE)
Oracle Cluster File System (OCFS2)

Situation

Attempts to run fsck.ocfs2 against an OCFS2 filesytem fail with the following message:

fsck.ocfs2: Unable to access cluster service while initializing the DLM

Errors found in /var/log/messages:

ocfs2_controld: complete_mount: uuid "41A4D9DCF7B8463593603A9B4B2552EE", errcode "-1485330943", service "fsck.ocfs2"

Resolution

Install the libdlm-devel package from the HAE media, version 2.99.08-8.4 or higher.
