zfcp_disk_configure results in multipathd error

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 1 (SLES 12 SP1)

Situation

Using zfcp_disk_configure to configure a zFCP disk:

zfcp_disk_configure <fibrechannel_host_adapter_address> <WWPN-World-wide-Port-Number> <LUN-Logical-unit-number> 0
(0=deactivate/1=activate)

for example:

zfcp_disk_configure 0.0.4000 1234567887654321 8765432100000000 0

returns the following usage/syntax error for multipathd:

multipath-tools v0.5.0 (12/17, 2013)
CLI commands reference:
list|show paths
list|show paths format $format
list|show path $path

Resolution

The s390-tools updates released May 2016 include the solution to resolve this problem. Please install the recommended updates.

Cause

The script zfcp_disk_configure calls multipathd with the incorrect parameters.
