Lost hostname after reboot in a system installed via autoyast

This document (7018401) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 2 (SLES 12 SP2)

Situation

A system which was installed with autoyast lost its hostname after a reboot. In addition, that would not happen when using the same xml autoyast profile in previous versions, such as SLES 12 SP1.

Resolution

Please ensure the following line is correct:

<keep_install_network config:type="boolean">true</keep_install_network>

Cause

Code in previous implementations such as SLES 12 SP1 was broken as for the part of keep_install_network. Hence, the network setup was copied always, and keep_install_network would have no effect.
