Signed rpm installation fails on SLES 11 SP4

This document (7022940) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 4 (SLES 11 SP4)

Situation

RPM signature checking fails when the public key contains subkeys.

Resolution

Update to the rpm package from
https://ptf.suse.com/a4508678dc8ee2c11453898fb347f199/sles11-sp4/14842/x86_64/20180222/

The update patches the rpm tool to ignore subkeys when parsing the public key.

Cause

With the rpm tool in SLES 11 SP4, parsing subkeys ends up overwriting data in the main key thereby causing bogus signature checking failures.
