Resolution
Cause
This lead to the requirement of the GLIBC_PRIVATE symbol and the installation/update to fail.
# zypper -q info --requires glibc-livepatches
shows the following requirements:
Requires : [15] coreutils libc.so.6()(64bit) libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit) libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4)(64bit) glibc libCNS.so()(64bit) libGB.so()(64bit) libISOIR165.so()(64bit) libc.so.6(GLIBC_PRIVATE)(64bit) libpulp-tools >= 0.3.0 /bin/sh rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1 rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1 rpmlib(FileDigests) <= 4.6.0-1 rpmlib(PayloadIsXz) <= 5.2-1
compared to the patched version:
/bin/sh coreutils glibc glibc-locale libpulp-tools >= 0.3.0 rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1 rpmlib(FileDigests) <= 4.6.0-1 rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1 rpmlib(PayloadIsXz) <= 5.2-1
