Configuring SLES for a FibreCAT S80
This document (3870694) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.
Environment
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9
Situation
Basically, with DM MPIO, everything should function when activating these services on SuSE Linux Enterprise. However, these services rely on scsi_id for calculation of a unique device id for each scsi device provided by the SAN. On SLES, scsi_id will not correctly report unique IDs for the FibreCAT S80 with the default configuration.
Resolution
getuid_callout "/sbin/scsi_id -g -u -p 0x80 -s /block/%n"
Additional Information
getuid_callout "/sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/%n"
so, the only difference is the creation of the file and specifying the '-p 0x80'.
