CONCLUSION: System is up-to-date!
  found    SLE-10-i386-SP3

linux-rdm4:~ #

SPident should just list the system it was executed on and not list all products.

Resolution

To correct the output of SPident use:

  cd /usr/share/misc/SPident/
  mkdir backup
  mv {U,N,SLE{S,D}}* backup/

This will move all non SLES10 relevant product data to the subdirectory backup. As an alternative, the data may be deleted using

  rm -f /usr/share/misc/SPident/{U,N,SLE{S,D}}*
