mptbase message (KERNEL)

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10

Situation

On a system with an LSI 53C1020 controller you get periodically (maybe every 1 minute) a message like

mptbase: ioc0: LogInfo(0x30030103): Originator={IOP}, Code={Invalid Page}, SubCode(0x0103)

in /var/log/messages.

Resolution

There is no resolution and no need to worry about this. It is neither an error nor a warning. This is just an informational message passed from the driver, indicating that one page had to be read twice from the cache. This has no known impact on service of the machine.
