Postfix can't authenticate against LDAP

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10

Situation

Postfix is unable to use a provided password to bind to the LDAP server.

Although Postfix supports thebind_pwargument in the ldap configuration files,
the authentication fails with an ERROR: invalid credentials

Resolution

The problem is expected to be fixed in Service Pack 1.
