Checking drbd status in SOC

This document (7022374) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE OpenStack Cloud 6

Situation

SUSE OpenStack Cloud deployment guide suggests the following command to check whether controller node deployed with drbd is in primary role:

systemctl status drbd
However the command doesn't say anything about the role status at all:

# /bin/systemctl status drbd
drbd.service - DRBD -- please disable. Unless you are NOT using a cluster manager.
   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/drbd.service; enabled)
Active: active (exited) since Tue 2016-07-19 10:38:45 CEST; 1 day 21h ago
 Main PID: 21014 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
   CGroup: /system.slice/drbd.service

Resolution

In SOC6 use 'cat /proc/drbd' to discover the required information:

# /proc/drbd
version: 8.4.6 (api:1/proto:86-101)

On SOC7 use commands 'drbd-overview' or 'drbdadm status':

# drbd-overview
