Updating Dracut Prints xhci-hcd Command Not Found

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 4 (SLES 12 SP4)

Situation

After updating the server, mkinitrd and dracut show the following error:
dracut: *** Including module: kernel-modules ***
/usr/lib/dracut/modules.d/90kernel-modules/module-setup.sh: line 46: xhci-hcd: command not found
The issue occurs with dracut versions:
SLES15 GMC dracut-044.2-18.28
SLES12 SP4 dracut-044.2-10.15

Resolution

The issue has been reported to engineering. Update the dracut RPM package when newer versions are available or apply the PTF available through support.

Cause


Additional Information

The xhci-hcd driver is the 'eXtensible' Host Controller (xHC) Driver. It provides some USB access within the initrd. Unless your root filesystem is on USB, this is an error you can ignore.
