file conflict for python36-pip

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 5
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 12 Service Pack 5
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 12 Service Pack 5
Situation
Installation of "python36-pip", when version "python3-pip-10.0.1-13.6.1" is already installed, causes a "file conflict" error in zypper.
The "file conflict" is only a symlink that both packages try to own.
Depending on which pip package you install last, the symlink is owned by that package.
/usr/bin/pip
and
/etc/alternatives/pip
and this file:
/usr/bin/pip3
/usr/bin/pip -> /etc/alternatives/pip
/etc/alternatives/pip -> /usr/bin/pip3.6
(depending on which RPM package was installed last)

Resolution
This issue has been resolved with python36-pip version 20.2.4-8.12.1 released on March 10, 2022:
python36-pip-20.2.4-8.12.1.noarch.rpm
Previous workaround recommendation:
Use:
"--replacefiles"
Install the packages even if they replace files from other, already installed, packages. Default is to treat file conflicts as an error.

Install the packages even if they replace files from other, already installed, packages. Default is to treat file conflicts as an error.
zypper up --replacefilesThis will allow zypper to overwrite the conflicting files and move forward with the update.
