Installation of SUSE Manager Server via proxy using online ISO

This document (000021528) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Manager 4.3 Server

Situation

Installation of SUSE Manager 4.3 Server via proxy using online ISO image (e.g. SLE-15-SP4-Online-x86_64-GM-Media1.iso). There is no "Boot options" option when "Installation" is highlighted within the boot screen where one can pass linuxrc parameters (e.g.proxy=http://proxy.example.com:3128).

Resolution

Within the boot screen navigate to "Installation" and hit the key "e" (for edit). Add the option "proxy" at the end of the line starting with "linux" so the line will look like the below example:
linux /boot/x86_64/loader/linux/ splash=silent proxy=192.168.0.1:3128
Then hit the "F10" key to boot the system.

Cause

Hypervisor does not show the "Boot Options" on the boot screen when "Installation" option is highlighted.
