Situation

After upgrading from SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 10 to SLED 10 SP1 the option to switch users that was available from a locked screensaver disappeared.

Resolution

This option can be added back using the following steps as the user who would like the option to be there:

Run gconf-editor (Alt+F2 will get a Run menu)
Go to apps, gnome-screensaver and find the option labeled user_switch_enabled
Choose this option and close gconf-editor. The next time the computer locks it will have the button present to allow the person in front of the computer to switch users.
