Yast DNS/Hostname module breaks network communication on Bond0

Environment


SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10

Situation

When a server/desktop is configured with NIC Bonding, the use of Yast's DNS/Host Name module will break the network on the server.  Performing an ifdown/ifup or rcnetwork stop/start returns normal network function.

Resolution

There is a defect in /usr/share/YaST2/clients/dns.ycp.  This has been reported to engineering and the issue will be fixed in SLE10 SP3, SLE11 SP1.  There will also be a fix released for sle10sp2.
