SUSEConnect error: IPAddr::InvalidAddressError: invalid address.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 1 (SLES 12 SP1)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 2 (SLES 12 SP2)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 12 Service Pack 1 (SLED 12 SP1)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 12 Service Pack 1 (SLED 12 SP2)

Situation

When using SUSEConnect an error appears:

Resolution

Update ruby2.1, ruby2.1-stdlib and libruby2_1-2_1 to newer version 2.1.9-18.1

Cause

Regression introduced by a previous update that was intended to fix insufficient support for domain wildcards in the $no_proxy environment variable.
