This document (000021533) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.
Environment
Situation
The following is displayed on the screen:
starting yast... Starting Installer Probing connected terminal... Initializing virtual console... Found a Linux console terminal on /dev/console (128 columns x 48 lines). Sampling every 5 s to /var/log/YaST2/memsample.zcat *** Starting YaST *** WARNING: Nokogiri was built against LibXML version 2.9.14, but has dynamically loaded 2.10.3
On another console (shell) "cat /proc/mdstat" shows that the RAID1 resync is still in progress.
For example:
Personalities : [raid1] md127 : active raid1 nvme0n1p1[0] nvme1n1p1[1] 1279262720 blocks super 1.2 [2/2] [UU] [===================>.] resync = 97.5% (1247559552/1279262720) finish=2.5min speed=205925K/sec unused devices:The resynchronization process in the above example began at 20% and required over 90 minutes to finish, after which the system automatically rebooted.
Resolution
As temporary workaround wait for the RAID1 resync to complete in the background.
Monitoring the progress with "cat /proc/mdstat" will show the progress and remaining time until completion.
The time it takes for the system to reboot depends on the size of the software RAID1 VD.
The system will reboot once the resync is complete.
The QU1 (Quarterly Update) ISO released in September, 2024 contains the patch to resolve the problem.
