How To: Restart Installation Stage 2 (Initial Reboot)

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9

Situation

At times, whether because of problems during installation or for other reasons, one may need to restart the installation stage 2 (initial reboot).

Resolution

The system startup (boot) scripts check for the existence of /var/lib/YaST2/runme_at_boot. If found, /usr/lib/YaST2/startup/YaST2.Second-Stage is started.

Should the installation stage 2 (initial reboot) need to be restarted, simply touch /var/lib/YaST2/runme_at_boot.
