WEG needed stable, reliable support and updates for its Linux environments and also wanted to reduce the cost of its Linux subscription. According to Rodrigo Rosa, global IT head of infrastructure at WEG, the company sought to implement a multi-Linux distribution strategy, replace its current Linux vendor and keep its infrastructure secure with a single point of support for its heterogeneous Linux environment. WEG adopted SUSE Liberty Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server after evaluating competitors, including Red Hat. This decision allowed the company to achieve its goals, including cost reduction, secure infrastructure and efficient support for its on-premises, multi-distribution Linux environment. WEG leveraged SUSE's solutions to ensure a stable and reliable Linux experience across its organization.
