SLES11 SP1 system panics after an update to kernel version 2.6.32.19-0.2

Environment
Situation
After update to kernel version 2.6.32.19-0.2, the system does not boot anmore.
The screen is black or the last lines of the crash are seen.
Using vga=normal as kernel boot option or an attached serial console does show that the system panics with the following call trace:
