VMware locks up when trying to use the browse button

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 SP1
openSUSE 10.2

Situation

VMware will lockup when trying to click the browse button if you are using GNOME on SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) SP1 or openSUSE 10.2.

Resolution

Workaround

Open a terminal and su to root.

su
Change to the libpng12.so.0 directory.

cd /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0
Rename the libpng12.so.0 file within that directory.

mv libpng12.so.0 libpng12.so.0.old
Create a new soft link for this file.

ln -sf /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0 libpng12.so.0
Now change the the libgcc_s.so.1 directory.

cd /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libgcc_s.so.1
Rename the libgcc_s.so.1 file within that directory.

mv libgcc_s.so.1 libgcc_s.so.1.old
Create a new soft link for this file.

ln -sf /lib/libgcc_s.so.1
Restart VMware and you should now be able to use the browse option.
