LTSS channel needs to be manually enabled via the command line in SUSE Manager for SLES11 SP4 LTSS

Environment

SUSE Manager Server 4.1
SUSE Manager Server 4.0
SUSE Manager Server 3.2

Situation

Some customers are still using SLES11 SP4 LTSS product, the product support will end in Mar 2022.

SLES11 SP4 LTSS channels cannot be enabled directly in the SUSE Manager Web UI, so we need to manually enabled them via the command line.

Resolution

To enable the SLES 11 SP4 LTSS channel, please run :

#mgr-sync add channel sles11-sp4-ltss-updates-x86_64

After that, it is possible to sync that channel immediately.
Please run the following command:

#spacewalk-repo-sync -c sles11-sp4-ltss-updates-x86_64

Finally, it is possible to verify the results once the synchronization has completed.
Please run the following command:

#tail -f /var/log/rhn/reposync/sles11-sp4-ltss-updates-x86_64.log

Cause

Optional channels can not be added using the SUSE Manager Web UI.
They need to be manually enabled via the command line.

Additional Information

Please make sure the LTSS subscription is activated in your organization.
