Plugging in or unplugging power on some Dell Latitude notebooks with SLED10 SP1 64-bit causes hard hang

Environment
Situation
Plugging in or unplugging the power connector on some Dell
Latitude Laptops with SLED10 Service Pack 1 causes the system to
hard hang. The same happens, when pressing Fn-DownArrow or UpArrow
to decrease or increase screen brightness. The issue arises with
the x86-64 version of SLED only, they do not occur with the 32-bit
version.

Resolution
The issue can be resolved by using the boot following boot parameter: nmi_watchdog=0.
