kdump fails if logical volumes are used for /var and /var/crash

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3

Situation

When using logical volumes for /var and /var/crash, kdump fails to mount /var/crash because the mount point does not exist. The kdump console shows:

Resolution

A maintenance update has been released to address this issue. Please update to
kdump-0.8.4-0.39.2 or later
