Accessing servers for SUSE registration and update infrastructure in Public Cloud

This document (000021627) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

Public Cloud

Situation

Customer has opted not to whitelist the registration and update servers hosted in the Public Cloud within their firewall configuration.

Resolution

For Public Clouds SUSE has region servers which can be listed on pint.suse.de for the specific Public Cloud in this case Amazon AWS:
https://pint.suse.com/?resource=servers&csp=amazon&serverType=region&state=active

To list the registration/update servers (Repository Mirroring Tool - RMT) for specific region:
https://pint.suse.com/?resource=servers&csp=amazon&serverType=update&state=active&region=ap-northeast-2

If whitelisting registration and update-specific infrastructure for SUSE instances in the AWS public cloud is desired, the addresses for all regional servers as well as the RMT servers in a specific region should be included.

Note: 'northeast-2' is just an example - all available region names are listed within the dropdown menu.
