ACL on ocfs2 filesystem does not work

This document (7003483) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server High Available Extension 11

Situation

Since SLES11 Access Control Lists (ACL) is a new feature for the ocfs2 filesystem.

But after mounting ocfs2 with the option acl it is not possible to set any acl to a file or directory.

Using the command setfacl gives back the following error messages.

# setfacl -m u:tuser:r /mnt/testing.txt
setfacl: /mnt/testing: Operation not supported

Resolution

This will be fixed in one of the next maintenance updates.
