hb_gui does not show meta data (HEARTBEAT)

This document (7004450) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 2

Situation

The hb_gui command of heartbeat version 2.1.4-0.15.2 fails to show some data of the cluster cib.

It is not possible to access this meta data of the cluster using this version with the hb_gui

This only affects the hb_gui tool and not the cluster itself. However this is not a single point of failure, as there is always the commandline available.

Any modification or status done via the commandline still works and the cluster is fully functional and healthy.

Resolution

The solution can either be to use the commandline tools, which also provide access and configuration to the cluster via console or scripting or to update to the latest maintenance update

   heartbeat-2.1.4-0.15.3

if using the commandline a good start is to use

   crm_mon -1

which will show in the commandline the cluster status and provide the necessary information to ensure confidence in heartbeat.
