ISDN fails to initialize on SLE11SP2

Environment
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 Service Pack 2
Situation
Loading Driver contr0 1 kcapi capidone
Initializing capi for contr0 (1)failed
Using strace to monitor the /etc/init.d/isdn startup script the trace shows:
4274 open("/dev/isdn/capi20", O_RDWR) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
4274 write(2, "ERROR: cannot open /dev/capi20 n"..., 84) = 84
4274 exit_group(-1)
Resolution
This update includes a set of RPM packages which depends on the hardware architecture (e.g. -32bit packages forx86_64). Please update capi4linux to version 2012.5.31-0.2.6. YaST2 / zypper will make sure to install the appropriate dependencies.
To locate the updates on our website, go to SUSE Patchfinder at: https://scc.suse.com/patches , then select SLES11SP2 as product and navigate down to "ISDN for Linux 6728" released on Sep 13th 2012.
Workaround:
Edit /etc/udev/rules.d/45-isdn.rules and move the entries from line 4
one line up so they precede the line:
