autofs reload not working

This document (7011893) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2

Situation

If a entry is added to the /etc/auto.master map and autofs is reloaded (rcautofs reload) it makes the automount daemon not stoppable any more; (rcautofs stop) will fail.

Changes made to the autofs configuration are not being applied.

autofs can not be stopped or only be stopped with a 'kill -9'.

Resolution

The fix will be available after autofs version 5.0.6-3.4.1 and only for SLES11 SP2 or higher.
If a PTF is needed, please contact SUSE Technical Support.
