Ceph Barclamp from SOC7 is not discovering available drives that are detected as removable block device.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP2
SUSE Cloud 7

Situation

When trying to setup a Ceph cluster from SOC7 using the Ceph Barclamp, the error message similar to "Nodes Node1, Node2 and Node3 for ceph-osd role are missing at least one unclaimed disk larger than 20GB" appears at the top of the page. The "Disk Drives" is also shown as "Unknown".

Resolution

The official patch that enables SOC7 to recognize removable block devices is now available.

Cause

If a disk drive is detected as a "removable" block device, it will be excluded and cannot be used by OSD.

Additional Information

The following log messages are seen in "/var/log/crowbar/production.log":
W, [2018-03-06T11:43:04.300379 #32375:0x00000008bea098]  WARN -- Nodes Node1, Node2 and Node3 for ceph-osd role are missing at least one unclaimed disk larger than 20GB.
