Aborting tailf causes bash session to be corrupted

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP4

Situation

When running a tailf and stop this with <ctrl><c> the bash console is broken. Characters being typed are not displayed and the prompt is displayed after each other when pressing enter. Only a reset brings the console back.
The file /etc/bash_completion.d/python-argcomplete exists.
In some cases the same issues have been seen when an echo (e.g. in a script) is stopped with <ctrl><c>.
The issue is often seen on Azure when the following package is installed:

```

Resolution

Update to bash-4.3-83.26.4 or greater. As a work around you can reset the console using the reset command.

Cause

This is a known issue in bash version 4.3 available on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP4 and SP5.
The issue is described in the following github issue.
The issue is not present in bash version 4.4 used on SUSE Enterprise Server 15.

Additional Information

Removing the file /etc/bash_completion.d/python-argcomplete could be a workaround, but it has to be tested, if it causes no other problems.
