linuxrc: ssh.password.enc - pop-up interrupts autoinstall

This document (000019956) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP2
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP1
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5

Situation

To enable remote login during an autoinstall the ssh.password parameter can be passed via linuxrc.
The following options pass and set the password in encrypted format:
sshd=1 ssh.password.enc=<encrypted_password>

During an autoinstall after linuxrc was started, a pop-up window opens asking for a temporary password:

Enter your temporary SSH password.

At this point it is required to enter the password before the installation continues.
However the encrypted string was already passed via linuxrc and the autoinstallation shouldn't be interrupted here.

Resolution

A Bug has been reported to engineering and a Support Case can be opened to request a temporary fix (PTF).

The SLES15 SP2 linuxrc update (linuxrc-7.0.15.6-3.15.1) released May/2021 and the
SLES12 SP5 linuxrc update (linuxrc-5.1.14.4-3.5.6) released in August/2021 include the patch to fix the problem.
